The GQ Men of the Year 2025 party was a rollicking tribute to 1995, the first year our annual franchise launched. The night kicked off with a star-studded red carpet livestream at the storied Chateau Marmont—hosted by influencer/comedian Quenlin Blackwell, plus Chris Black and Jason Stewart of the How Long Gone podcast—filled with several memorable moments. And unlike most good times at the Chateau, these ones won’t just stay at the Chateau.
Look, the ’90s were a different time. Tons of decisions were being made every day, and not all of them were, let’s say, the correct cultural move. We’re willing to forgive GQ cover star Seth Rogen for having, in his own words, “shoulder-length, bleach blond, pencil thin” dreads as a teenager in Vancouver. Let’s just make sure he never tries that look again.
Speaking of Canada, our red carpet correspondents Chris Black and Jason Stewart had to ask Toronto’s own Will Arnett about the hottest goss from up north: Justin Trudeau dating Katy Perry. Arnett would neither confirm nor deny that he matched with the global pop superstar on Raya before the former prime minister.

To commemorate his huge year, Walton Goggins got four new tattoos. Asked about his favorite, the White Lotus actor rolled up his leather sleeve and revealed the word “pilgrim” on his arm. The significance behind it? “A person who lives their life out in the world, moves from place to place, and is curious about the world.”

“I am not going to do a podcast,” Stephen Colbert assured the How Long Gone boys. “There’s nothing in the constitution that says when you lose your TV show, you have to get a podcast.” That settles it. Don’t refresh your podcast app looking for a new show from our Mic Drop of the Year honoree. (Word to Shai-Gilgeous Alexander.)
Co-stars on one of 2025’s buzziest shows, I Love LA, Rachel Sennott and host Quen Blackwell found each other on the red carpet and immediately burst into jubilant screams. They admired each other’s outfits—Sennott in a vibrant floral dress from Chloe, Blackwell in a stunning archival Mugler set—commiserated over having to send emails, and compared skincare regimens. The reason for them meeting on the red carpet? They manifested it, of course.

Pusha T and Malice arrived on the red carpet still riding the high of their five Grammy nominations that were announced earlier in the week. The Thornton brothers—better known as Clipse—say they got the news in the Louis Vuitton headquarters alongside their longtime collaborator Pharrell. “We didn’t expect to get all five, but it was a pleasant surprise,” Malice said, dropping the humble brag of the night.

When discussing her one-year-old son’s fashion sense, GQ cover star and Mogul of the Year Hailey Bieber used the phrases “not so overstated” and “relaxed.” While most baby clothes tend to be, well, childish, the Biebers like to dress Jack in sweats and hoodies. Sounds like a chill guy.

Blackwell asked GQ cover star and Leading Man of the Year Oscar Isaac about the band he plays in with his six-year-old son. But lest you think they’re playing Cocomelon tunes, Isaac says his young drummer is more into System of a Down, Metallica, and The Pixies. Rock on, little man.

When you walk around some of this country’s more fashion-inclined cities, you never know what kind of pants you might see. Emma Chamberlain, one of our recent 50 Most Stylish People Alive honorees, revealed that she’s seeing a return to the the skinny jean. (Perhaps she and Walton Goggins can compare denim notes.)

One of the young faces of indie rock reached into the ’90s song catalog for his MOTY performance. Lenderman’s stripped-down rendition of the Counting Crows’ 1996 ballad “A Long December”—which came out some two years before Lenderman was born—was a fitting tribute to the decade that spawned both him and the Man of the Year celebration.
