Memory is, I mean, experiences

would be what it boils down to,

which I think is the most important thing in life.

Today, we are in Los Angeles

for the Men of the Year party for GQ with Lilly.

I'm excited to go.

I mean, every year they honor such incredible men and women.

My grandfather had a huge impact on, you know, my life,

my mom's life, my dad's life.

My grandfather, Sargent Shriver, was diagnosed

with Alzheimer's in the early 2000s,

and what was, you know, heartbreaking to watch

was to watch his memory fade away,

to not remember who I was or who my mom was.

I think it was through my mom,

and really watching her dedicate her life towards,

well, one, being a caregiver,

having to take care of my grandfather,

but two, you know, I mean, she's a reporter,

and so she was so interested as to why

there wasn't that much research done on Alzheimer's.

Through that, I learned so much about Alzheimer's

and what impacts the brain.

There are things that we can do today

that can help our brain tomorrow or in 10 years from now.

That is something that's so far away.

But actually going and asking your doctor for,

you know, a cognitive health test

or to go over the symptoms, you know,

it's important to do it at an earlier age.

I'm super excited to partner with Lilly,

a medicine company that has really, you know,

been in the Alzheimer's awareness and research space

for 30 years, I mean, multiple decades.

[gentle groovy music]

So I start the day in the more '90s boyish look,

and then it goes to the cool rocker.

Feels very like, you know, Terminator vibes.

What I can remember of the '90s and the simplicity of it

in that era before we all had our, you know, smartphones.

Tonight, being the Men of the Year,

and the fact that it's partnering with Lilly,

and then my relationship with fashion,

but then my relationship with Alzheimer's

with my grandfather

and how much I look to my grandfather

as kind of a fashion icon.

I think it's just like a, yeah, I mean,

it's an exciting night for me.

It's gonna be fun.
